Yoga Instructor
Karen's Bio
Karen Sonin has been teaching vinyasa styles of yoga since 2013
and practicing for more than 18 years. Several local Denver instructors
helped to grow her passion for yoga. Karen found her inspiration to share
and teach yoga during a walking meditation in the mountains. She
graduated with a 200 hour certificate from LifePower Yoga and a 300 hour certificate from Kindness Yoga. She is registered as a 500 RYT with Yoga Alliance. Karen also has training in Kids, Teen/Tween and Restorative yogas.
Karen leads classes emphasizing the power of breath and it’s ability to connect our bodies and minds all while having fun. It’s common to find her students laughing together while in class. She wants you to walk off the mat and into the world with a feeling of warmth in your heart and strength in your mind and body.
Karen’s mission is to make the world a more peaceful place one student at time by helping everyone, young and not-so-young, to realize we are all connected to each other and the world; and we find this amazing connection through our breath. She also hopes her students will yearn for their next opportunity to be on their mats, whether in her class, another class or in the comfort of their own home and to make yoga a life-long habit.
Karen has been married 22 years, has 3 children and founded Horizen Yoga.

Thoughts
Crater Lake
Arguably, the most peaceful place on earth! A 'must see' in Ntl Pks.
It took Crater Lake approximately 5 million years to reach a peaceful state after being a destructive volcano. I believe the people on earth can reach a peaceful state, but in much quicker fashion as we were given brains to make decisions and control our actions. We truly are all connected, we need to work with each other, not opposed to one another. Love one another.

Family is Happiness
I have been doing yoga with Karen for over 3 years and I highly recommend everyone let themselves be guided through her teaching. Karen brings joy, passion and love to every class. She has gained much from her own practice and one of her gifts is in sharing those benefits with all. Karen has a heartfelt approach that creates a heart-mind-body connection to decompress, gain peace and insight and live a healthier, happier life.
